Through wall conduit, also known as through wall pipe or waterproof conduit, is mainly used at the perforation of building walls or roofs to protect pipelines and prevent water infiltration. Wall penetrating conduit is mainly divided into two types: rigid waterproof conduit and flexible waterproof conduit, and their usage scenarios are different.
Classification and purpose
Rigid waterproof conduit: mainly used for underground pipelines that need to pass through walls or floors. The rigid waterproof sleeve is made of steel pipes with wing rings (circular steel plates are fitted onto the steel pipes) and installed inside the wall (usually concrete walls), which is conducive to the waterproofing of the wall.
Flexible waterproof conduit: suitable for structures where pipelines pass through walls and are subject to vibration or have tight waterproof requirements. In addition to the external wing ring, the flexible waterproof sleeve also has internal structures such as retaining rings and flange inner wires, which are suitable for pipelines that require shock absorption, such as pipes connected to water pumps that pass through walls.
Installation specifications and size selection
Installation specifications: The hole diameter for installing through wall sleeves should be at least 5mm larger than the embedded part, and the maximum thickness of the concrete installation plate should not exceed 50mm. When the wall bushing with a rated current of 1500A or above is directly fixed on the steel plate, a closed magnetic circuit should not be formed around the bushing. When installing the wall sleeve vertically, the flange should face upwards, and when installing horizontally, the flange should be outward. The metal clamp at the end of the wall bushing for busbars of 600A and above should be made of non-magnetic material, and there should be a metal connection between it and the busbar, with stable contact.
Size selection: Generally, the wall thickness of the conduit for wall penetration does not need to be specially considered. For example, a 40mm fire pipe can use a 50mm sleeve, with both ends of the sleeve protruding about 50mm from the wall.
